PMI uses Portable X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) to analyze a material’s chemical composition without damaging it. This process helps identify incorrect materials, verify compliance with industry standards, and prevent potentially dangerous substitutions in piping, fittings, and welded components.

Our portable XRF analyzers use either isotope-based or X-ray tube-based technology to determine the elements in a material. A low-energy radiation beam excites the material, which then emits a unique radiation spectrum that reveals its chemical composition. This allows for quick, reliable results in the field.
