Radiographic Testing (RT) is a powerful Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) method that identifies internal flaws by passing X-rays or Gamma rays through materials and capturing the results on film. This technique works on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, ensuring high accuracy in detecting sub-surface discontinuities.

Deep Penetration for Reliable Inspections

At Certified Testing Systems (CTS), our Gamma Ray units can penetrate up to 6 inches of steel, allowing for deep and precise inspections. Because Gamma Ray technology uses an Iridium isotope or Cobalt 60, it doesn’t require an external power source—making it an ideal solution for inspecting pipelines, bridges, and other remote structures.

With over 30 years of experience, we have successfully completed a wide range of NDT projects—from routine inspections to complex, specialized evaluations. No matter the challenge, we have the expertise to handle it.

Our 140 to 300-kilovolt X-ray units provide precision imaging to detect internal flaws in a wide range of materials. Xray is used for materials like aluminum, plastics, ceramics, and other low-density substances.

We have three exposure rooms where we conduct our Radiographic inspections. The 12x12-foot exposure room, equipped with a sliding lead door, is designed for large-scale objects. This facility allows us to conduct high-penetration testing using IR192 or Co60 exposure devices, offering unmatched versatility for examining oversized components.
